Grasp All Lose All Completing Story for SSC, HSC

Once there lived a greedy farmer in a village. He worked hard every day. One morning, he found a goose that laid a golden egg. He was surprised and happy. He sold the egg and received good money.

The next day, the goose laid another golden egg. The farmer became rich by selling one egg every morning. Soon, he built a house and bought clothes. Yet, he was not satisfied and wanted more wealth.

One day, he said to his wife, “The goose must have many golden eggs inside its body. If we cut it open, we can get the eggs at once.” Wife warned him not to be greedy, but he ignored her.

The farmer killed the goose and cut open its body. To his great disappointment, he found nothing inside. There was no golden egg. The goose was an ordinary goose that had given him one golden egg each day.

The farmer became sad. He realized that his greed had destroyed his daily income. He cried over his foolish decision, but it was too late. He had lost the goose and all his golden eggs.

Thus, the farmer learned a lesson. If he had been patient and satisfied, he could have remained rich for a time. His greed made him lose everything. Moral: Grasp all, lose all.
